    Barakah Unit 1 in the UAE begins refueling and maintenance

    Nawah Energy Company (Nawah) commenced regular nuclear refueling phase and maintenance of Unit 1 of the Barakah Nuclear Power plant, according to the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR). As part of this phase, new nuclear fuel assemblies will be added, and several maintenance and testing activities will be performed on equipment for power production, safety-related systems, and others.

    Barakah Unit 1 in the UAE begins refueling and maintenanceFANR is conducting its regulatory oversight activities, including review and inspection programmes at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 refueling and maintenance phase. This is to ensure all activities are conducted according to FANR regulations. Following the completion of the refueling phase, Unit 1 is scheduled to resume power generation after obtaining approval from FANR.
