Gulf Biotech Company has become the second facility to manufacture drugs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, following the approval of a manufacturing license. National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) said that it had issued a license to the medical firm, making it the very first facility to manufacture injectable drugs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Gulf Biotech is licensed to manufacture injectable drugs by NHRAAfter presenting studies of the produced products and presenting a stability analysis for them, the factory gained the right to produce the first batches of injectable drugs. To start production and marketing of sterile and injectable formulations, the injectable drug will also undergo a final inspection to receive a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certificate.

Using technology from Bosch, the licensed plant will manufacture a variety of injectable human healthcare products, including vials, ampoules, and prefilled syringes. The Gulf Biotech Company has its headquarters in the Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP) in the Hidd Industrial Zone. It occupies three floors covering approximately 4,500 square metres.
