Air Arabia is set to resume its daily nonstop flights linking Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, starting October 16, 2026. This move will re-establish a direct air route between the UAE emirate and the coastal city in Kerala. The airline announced the route’s comeback on October 6 and indicated that tickets are now available for booking. The daily flights will reconnect Ras Al Khaimah International Airport with Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

According to Air Arabia, the reinstated route will facilitate direct daily flights between the UAE and India. Kozhikode, also called Calicut, is situated on Kerala’s Malabar Coast in the southern part of India. The airline did not specify the exact departure and arrival times in its October 6 statement, nor did it reveal the aircraft type or flight numbers for the daily service. Those specifics were not included in the latest announcement either.
Adel Al Ali, the group CEO of Air Arabia, expressed satisfaction at restoring the direct link, emphasizing that the daily flights will provide travelers with a convenient connection between the two cities. He added that the airline remains committed to offering dependable travel options and fostering community connections. The decision to bring back the route was driven by passenger demand between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, although no passenger volume forecasts or traffic estimates were shared.
Kerala route reinstatement enhances daily connectivity
The Kozhikode route complements Air Arabia’s existing nonstop destinations from Ras Al Khaimah, which currently include Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. The return of the India service will expand this list starting October 16. Since beginning operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in May 2014, Air Arabia has maintained the emirate as one of its primary bases within the UAE.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023. At that time, the route operated three times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft, with flights scheduled on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The 2026 restart will increase the frequency to daily flights, although the airline has not confirmed whether the previous flight numbers or departure times will be used for the renewed service.
Tickets now available before October service resumes
Passengers can reserve their seats through Air Arabia’s official website, its call center, or authorized travel agencies. These booking options were confirmed when the airline announced the October restart. The statement did not specify when the previous service ended or the reasons for the interruption. Additionally, fares, detailed operating schedules, and aircraft types for the new daily flights have not yet been disclosed. The airline’s announcement primarily highlighted the restart date, frequency, and the city pair.
The resumption on October 16 restores Kozhikode’s direct connection with Ras Al Khaimah nearly three years after the route’s initial launch. This service will once again offer nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline has confirmed daily flights from the restart date, other scheduling details remain undisclosed. Travelers seeking specific flight timings, numbers, or fares should consult the airline’s booking channels for current information. No additional route changes have been announced by the carrier.
